Form Energy is hiring a Senior Supplier Industrialization Engineer, Electromechanical to lead the end-to-end industrialization of custom wire harness and cable assemblies for iron-air battery systems and power conversion equipment. Reporting to the Manager of Supplier Industrialization Engineering, you will serve as the definitive technical and quality authority for contract-manufactured harnesses, owning the complete lifecycle from early design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and supplier selection through mass production and field quality accountability.
Key responsibilities include: leading PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) execution for custom harnesses, defining manufacturing standards and test procedures (crimp pull tests, continuity/hipot testing, cable routing validation) at contract manufacturer sites, serving as primary technical leader for production and field issue resolution with cross-functional coordination on corrective actions, holding domestic and international suppliers accountable to yield and quality targets while mentoring their engineering teams, embedding DFM/DFA principles into harness designs to enable smooth prototype-to-production transitions, and conducting technical audits and source inspections at supplier facilities (approximately 20% travel).
You will bring 5+ years of experience in new product development and manufacturing of custom wire harnesses and interconnect systems, with deep expertise in crimping, wire preparation, molding/overmolding, cable assembly, and connector systems. You have demonstrated success implementing PPAP/APQP frameworks and managing supplier quality through data-driven yield and defect analysis. A BS in Electrical Engineering or related technical field is required, along with familiarity with harness industry standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620) and experience with high-power or high-voltage harness design and testing. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.
