Salary: USD 140,000 - 165,000 / annual

You will join the Strategic Accounts team as a Senior Strategic Accounts Manager, reporting to the Director of Strategic Accounts. This role is critical for retaining and growing Garner's mid-market employer clients (250–1,000 employees) by serving as their trusted strategic partner on plan design, cost trends, and performance.
Key responsibilities:
- Own the retention and upsell process for small and mid-market employer clients (250–1,000 lives)
- Collaborate with Account Managers to ensure clients receive excellent experiences and achieve expected results
- Serve as the client's trusted strategic partner on plan design, cost-trend management, and plan performance
- Establish and manage key strategic broker and client relationships
- Monitor overall client health, anticipate strategic needs, and execute proactive plans to address account risks
- Partner with finance, product, data, and technology teams to deliver reports demonstrating Garner's value and ROI
- Drive improved Net Revenue Retention and other KPIs for your book of business
The role is based remotely with occasional travel to NYC headquarters (up to 10% of the time expected).
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in a commercially-oriented consultant/broker, account management, or sales role in the employee benefits space
- Deep health plan design and benefits knowledge, including experience advising employer clients on benefits strategy and cost performance
- Proven track record of achieving retention and upsell targets year over year
- Self-starter mentality with ability to work in ambiguous, rapidly evolving, fast-paced startup environments
- Excellent communication, presentation, and articulation skills
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems in ambiguous strategic situations
- Desire to be part of a high-performing, mission-driven team that operates with intense urgency and strong individual accountability
