Scowtt is an early-stage startup building AI/ML-powered marketing optimization and autonomous sales experiences. The company integrates CRM, web signals, and product interaction data into real-time systems to help businesses convert leads into customers.
You will join as a Senior/Staff Software Engineer on the Data Platform team, owning backend and data systems end-to-end. This is a hands-on role with significant technical scope: you'll design and build scalable data pipelines ingesting from CRM, web, advertising, and product platforms; integrate with data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift); develop backend APIs and services in Python and TypeScript; build curated datasets for ML systems and analytics; and solve systemic problems around data quality, schema evolution, scalability, and reliability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own backend and data systems from architecture through production operation and scale
- Design reliable ingestion patterns across APIs, cloud storage, databases, and event-driven systems
- Build systems for large historical backfills and low-latency incremental processing
- Develop backend APIs and internal applications
- Work across GCP and AWS, making pragmatic architecture decisions
- Mentor other engineers and help define engineering standards as the platform scales
- Ensure security best practices around data handling, authentication, and compliance
This is a startup environment where you'll work across the stack and occasionally contribute to frontend when needed to ship complete product experiences. You'll help define architecture and reusable patterns as the company scales.
