Salary: USD 190,900 - 334,100 / annual
ServiceNow's Security Organization is building a unified security data platform that integrates data from disparate systems—asset inventory, identity governance, detection tooling, and threat intelligence—behind a shared API and knowledge layer. Currently, security analysts spend hours answering basic questions like "which systems could an attacker reach from a compromised account?" The new platform will enable those answers in seconds without replacing or copying data from source systems.
You will be a senior individual contributor on a small team, owning entire platform areas end-to-end: designing API contracts, building the services behind them, shipping to production, and driving adoption across partner teams in detection engineering, red team, blue team, and identity/asset management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and build core platform APIs covering context retrieval, risk scoring, entity resolution, data contracts, and coverage queries
- Build and operate asynchronous data pipelines on a message bus with governed schema registry
- Integrate security data sources including SIEM, identity governance, asset inventory, and knowledge graphs
- Own platform workstreams from scoping through delivery, including cross-team coordination
- Author design proposals and participate in RFC reviews
- Mentor engineers on partner teams, review code, and maintain technical documentation
This is a hands-on role requiring deep expertise in Python, Splunk, distributed systems architecture, and cybersecurity operations. You'll work directly with stakeholders across security functions and be responsible for defining interfaces that other teams build against. By year one, you'll own one or more core APIs with partner teams actively building against your contracts, and your architectural opinions will carry significant weight in program decisions.
