Lumilens is building photonics infrastructure for AI supercomputing, including chip-to-chip optical interconnects and scalable photonic engines. The company is Series B-funded and led by industry veterans.
As Senior Staff Software Engineer, Data, you will architect and build data pipelines and infrastructure that transform manufacturing and test data—including yield, SPC, failure, and reliability metrics—into actionable signal for engineering teams, researchers, and leadership. You'll design, build, and maintain dashboards and visualizations for stakeholders across the executive team, internal engineering, and external customers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Architecting data pipelines and infrastructure for manufacturing and test data across multiple sites
- Designing robust data models and building dashboards using tools like Superset, Looker, or Tableau
- Partnering directly with optical, manufacturing, and quality/reliability engineers to translate domain requirements into technical solutions
- Building automated data quality checks and validation pipelines, including critical shipping-readiness gates
- Identifying and resolving data gaps in collaboration with domain experts
- Driving improvements to pipeline reliability, turnaround time, and cost
- Applying strong software engineering practices (version control, testing, code review, CI/CD) to data systems
- Setting technical direction for the data organization as it scales across Thailand, Bangalore, Singapore, and the United States, and mentoring team members
Required qualifications: 5+ years of professional software engineering with substantial experience building and owning data systems (data engineering, analytics engineering, or backend systems handling large operational datasets). Strong SQL skills, hands-on dashboard/BI experience (Superset, Looker, Tableau), proficiency with Python data stack (pandas, numpy, matplotlib, seaborn, altair), cloud data infrastructure experience (preferably AWS), and a track record of partnering with non-data domain experts to deliver reliable solutions.
Preferred: experience with manufacturing, semiconductor, hardware, or high-volume operational/test data; familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) or yield analysis; experience working across distributed, multi-site teams.
