You'll join the Flexibility team, established in early 2026 and focused on greenfield opportunities at the cutting edge of Octopus' flexibility strategy. The team enables rapid response to global flex opportunities and is building the next generation of products and tools to make energy more flexible.
Key products include Intelligent Octopus, which automates demand shift for 300,000 customers with electric cars, home batteries, or smart heating devices; Saving Sessions and Free Electricity Sessions, which save 2 million customers money; and management of 568MW of large grid-scale batteries to balance the system. These products are used by millions of customers globally, helping boost renewables use and decarbonize energy systems.
As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll work on products with massive scale and real-world impact on the energy transition. The role involves building data infrastructure and pipelines to support flexibility products that directly influence how millions of customers interact with renewable energy. You'll operate in a flat hierarchy with an open, agile culture that values innovation, flexibility, and authenticity. The team embraces a collaborative environment where people bring their whole selves to work.
