OneTrust is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead the design and evolution of its AI Governance platform. This is a high-impact technical leadership role on the AI Governance Engineering team, where you'll shape next-generation capabilities for responsible AI deployment, compliance, safety, and agent runtime governance.
You will serve as a deep technical expert across the platform, capable of contributing to and troubleshooting major system components. Your responsibilities include driving technical strategy and architecture decisions, partnering with Product and Engineering leadership to translate vision into actionable roadmaps, and leading the design of scalable, secure, highly available services supporting AI governance, observability, controls, and agent runtime management.
As a senior technical leader, you'll provide mentorship across multiple engineering teams, elevate engineering excellence through architecture reviews and design guidance, and tackle ambiguous, open-ended problems from concept through implementation. You'll champion performance, reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence, drive adoption of emerging technologies and practices, and collaborate closely with Product, Design, QA, and Operations to deliver customer-centric outcomes.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, 12+ years of software engineering experience building enterprise-grade distributed systems, and deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and cloud-native architectures. You should have proven experience designing and operating highly scalable, secure, resilient web services, strong understanding of software architecture and system design, and experience leading complex technical initiatives across multiple teams.
Preferred qualifications include familiarity with modern AI platforms, agent frameworks, and LLM-powered applications; experience with AI deployment ecosystems such as Amazon Bedrock, Microsoft Foundry, or Google Vertex AI; and background building AI Governance, Trust & Safety, Security, Compliance, or Observability platforms. A Master's degree and experience with agentic AI systems, runtime governance, or AI observability solutions are highly valued.
