Kong is hiring a Senior Staff Product Manager to own the Konnect Developer Portal self-service experience, a gateway-agnostic API and AI portal serving billions of API calls monthly at Fortune 500 companies and startups. You'll lead product discovery and roadmap definition across application registration, credential management, team management, multi-runtime access control, API/AI lifecycle management, productization, monetization, and frictionless onboarding for both product-led growth and enterprise customers.
You'll partner closely with design, engineering, go-to-market teams, and customers to define and ship features that drive adoption and revenue. Your responsibilities include running user research, synthesizing developer feedback into clear requirements, defining and tracking KPIs for product health and adoption, and communicating across functions to align stakeholders on tradeoffs.
You bring 6–8 years of B2B SaaS or developer tooling product management experience, with deep empathy for developers and hands-on experience building or supporting developer-facing tools and APIs. You understand agentic workflows, have shipped complex product surfaces spanning frontend UX, backend integrations, and system design, and excel at iterative, high-trust collaboration with design and engineering. You're comfortable defining success metrics tied to both product outcomes and business goals like ARR impact, and you're familiar with git workflows, CLI tooling, Markdown docs, and CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred: 5+ years building developer-focused UX, experience with API management/gateway platforms as product or practitioner, and experience using AI to automate product and development workflows. You report to Jason Harmon, Director of Product Management, and work within a broader Konnect team focused on helping customers operate, scale, and manage AI and APIs in the modern application world.
