The Senior Platform Engineer role focuses on building world-class developer experiences distinct from the InfraOps/SRE team. You will design and evolve the developer platform, modernize CI/CD pipelines, and architect a shared AI layer to enable engineers to ship safely and efficiently.
Key responsibilities include: designing robust developer tools and managing scalable CI/CD pipelines while driving systemic improvements to DORA metrics; building reusable, versioned Terraform modules and golden paths for seamless infrastructure adoption; designing context and engineering systems including model gateways, shared MCP servers, tool surfaces, prompt assets, cost budgets, and execution guardrails; treating AI tooling with the same rigor as CI/CD through evaluation harnesses measuring agent quality and adoption; implementing security-by-design practices (least-privilege IAM, secrets hygiene, policy-as-code) and actionable observability (structured logging, tracing, SLOs-as-code); maintaining team-owned tooling, resolving CI/CD production issues, leading cross-team initiatives, and participating in balanced on-call rotation.
Required qualifications: proven platform engineering scope; mastery of one language (Go, TypeScript, Python, Java/Kotlin) and proficiency in a second; strong grasp of architecture (SOLID, resilience patterns), XP practices (TDD/BDD, feature flags, safe refactoring), and data system evolution; deep experience building with LLMs and coding agents including harness design, tool/MCP integration, agent workflows, and managing model limitations; experience designing evaluation frameworks and defining quality signals for non-deterministic model outputs; expertise in CI/CD automation, policy-as-code, supply chain integrity, and observability fundamentals; Bachelor's degree in CS/STEM or equivalent practical experience; strong written and verbal English communication.
Bonuses: proven experience building internal developer platforms or driving org-wide AI tooling adoption; AWS cloud infrastructure expertise, serverless architectures (Lambda), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes); track record leading large-scale refactoring, modernization, or deprecation programs reducing technical risk.
Tech stack: AWS cloud, infrastructure-as-code, Quarkus framework, JSON, gRPC, multiple data storage integrations, queues, OpenTelemetry.
