Crusoe is seeking a Senior Staff Commissioning Engineer, Mechanical to serve as a multi-campus technical authority for commissioning across its data center portfolio. This role combines deep technical mastery with programmatic ownership and executive-level leadership.
You will provide high-level commissioning oversight and direction across multiple campuses, ensuring operational alignment and exceptional client relations. You'll drive consistency in commissioning execution across sites, identify cross-project patterns and systemic risks, and translate lessons learned into program-level improvements. You'll represent Crusoe Commissioning in cross-functional governance forums, leadership reviews, and client-facing engagements.
As the "Master of Discipline" for mechanical systems, you'll own high-impact, technically complex decisions that shape site outcomes, including system readiness, test acceptance, and risk-based deviations. You'll serve as the recognized escalation authority for complex technical issues across all project phases and maintain comprehensive understanding of building systems—cooling and heat rejection, hydronics, BMS/controls, and electrical interfaces.
You'll own development and continuous improvement of the commissioning program, creating and deploying new processes, standards, and governance documents. You'll conduct QA audits, drive root cause analysis on systemic issues, and establish frameworks for measuring program quality. You'll support quoting activities, manage program-level commercial outcomes, and bring contractual and risk understanding to vendor negotiations.
You'll manage and analyze trade partner and third-party commissioning agent execution, set performance standards for commissioning agents, and build trust-based partnerships with key external partners. You'll actively mentor and develop team members across the organization, bridging gaps between current and exceptional performance.
Required: 10+ years in data center commissioning, construction, or critical infrastructure delivery with demonstrated ownership at campus, region, and program levels. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (equivalent commissioning experience considered; CxA certification a plus). Mastery of the full commissioning lifecycle (L0–L6), including documentation, testing, and governance requirements.
