Bitpanda, a leading European crypto-asset and financial services platform with 7+ million customers, is seeking a Senior Compliance Specialist to strengthen its regulatory compliance function in Berlin. In this role, you will be a central figure in upholding high-standard compliance culture across the organization, ensuring adherence to German and EU regulations with particular focus on MiCAR (Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation).
You will support the second line of defence, operating independently from operational functions and serving as a key point of contact for regulatory compliance and governance matters. Your responsibilities include:
• Developing and overseeing a robust compliance monitoring programme aligned with MiCAR requirements and broader EU and national regulatory expectations
• Acting as the primary contact for regulatory topics, ensuring accurate submissions, timely reporting, and continuous monitoring of regulatory developments
• Identifying and escalating compliance breaches, supporting corrective actions, and contributing to compliance risk assessments
• Drafting and maintaining compliance policies, contributing to management and Board reporting on compliance risks, and supporting training initiatives
• Promoting a strong culture of ethical compliance, integrity, and transparency throughout the organization
You bring a degree in Law, Finance, Business, or related field with at least 2 years of compliance experience in financial services, fintech, or crypto sectors. Strong understanding of MiCAR, EU regulatory frameworks, and crypto-asset compliance is essential. You are independent, detail-oriented, analytical, and an excellent communicator with fluency in both German and English. You exercise sound judgment and can explain complex regulatory topics clearly while maintaining confidentiality.
