Twilio is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer for the South EMEA region to join the presales team. This is a customer-facing technical role focused on enabling customers to build communications solutions using Twilio's platform.
You will partner with Account Executives to execute presales activities including opportunity qualification, technical demonstrations, proof-of-concept engagements, RFP responses, design documentation, and technical presentations. Your core responsibility is to deliver the technical win and ensure optimal product fit for customers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading technical discovery and designing innovative solutions that address customer business challenges
- Establishing yourself as a trusted technical advisor by understanding customer pain points and recommending best-practice approaches
- Building and presenting complex, interactive product demonstrations showcasing Twilio's communications capabilities to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Guiding customers on how to effectively use Twilio's APIs and platform
- Mentoring less experienced presales engineers and contributing to the broader presales community through knowledge sharing and reusable materials
- Taking initiative to identify and solve problems for customers and within the organization
You should be comfortable engaging with C-level executives and technical engineers alike, translating complex technical concepts for diverse audiences. The role requires approximately 35% travel to build in-person relationships with customers and team members.
REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
- 8+ years of presales experience selling complex technical products, OR 10+ years of professional experience supporting technical products with customer-facing delivery or consulting experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to gain audience confidence
- Strong storytelling ability; can communicate complex topics to multiple audience levels
- Ability to build deep understanding of customer communications needs and guide them to technical solutions
- Previous software development experience or working knowledge in one or more of: Backend languages (Java, C#, Node.js, Python, PHP), Web development (JavaScript, HTML/CSS, React, Vue.js, Angular), REST APIs
- Previous experience in Telecom, SIP, Contact Center, or Security
- Experience with sales methodologies
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in a technical discipline (Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science) or equivalent practical experience
Desired:
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure) and cloud application architecture
- Experience working with customers in the DACH region
- Proficiency in French, Spanish, or Italian
