Salary: USD 160,000 - 300,000 / annual
Ocient is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect for Communications Service Providers (CSP) to own the technical strategy and execution for assigned CSP opportunities. This is a customer-facing role focused on new customer acquisition through technical wins, proof-of-value engagements, production readiness, and repeatable customer outcomes.
You will partner closely with Account Executives, Field CTOs, Delivery, Product, and strategic partners throughout the customer lifecycle—from discovery through proof of value and production planning. Your core responsibilities include leading technical strategy for CSP opportunities, running customer design sessions to capture critical requirements (use cases, data sources, volumes, ingest rates, success criteria, performance requirements, deployment modalities), and assessing customer needs to determine best-fit OcientAIQ solutions.
You will design end-to-end OcientAIQ and Telemetry as a Service solutions, advise customers on hybrid architecture and economics, orchestrate technical partner engagement on joint opportunities, and own customer specification documents covering requirements, success criteria, assumptions, risks, and architecture decisions. You'll partner with Delivery, Data Engineering, and Customer Solutions teams on schema, workload testing, pilot execution, and system sizing. Additional responsibilities include creating demonstrations and reference architectures, carrying field feedback into Product Management, and helping onboard and develop Solution Engineering and Solution Architect teammates.
OcientAIQ solutions span CSP use cases including cybersecurity, autonomous networks, billing and revenue assurance, lawful disclosure, and network performance. The role requires up to 50% travel to customer sites, partner workshops, and Ocient offices.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of customer-facing solutions architecture, sales engineering, field engineering, or technical consulting experience, with significant experience in CSP, telecommunications, network analytics, OSS/BSS, security analytics, or high-volume telemetry environments
- Deep hands-on experience with OLAP, real-time analytics, and data warehousing across cloud and on-prem
- Hands-on integration experience with at least one major cloud data or AI ecosystem (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud), plus exposure to AI, RAG, agentic, or LLM application frameworks
- Experience with high-volume ingest patterns, including Kafka, file-based ingest, object storage, streaming, batch, CDC, or similar data movement architectures
- Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation, structured data products, lineage, and governance, and trade-offs when designing data layers for agentic AI
- Strong technical leadership and business acumen; ability to earn trust with customer architects, partner principals, and executives
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT, SQL, and CSP data formats (CDR, IPDR, IPFIX/NetFlow, ASN.1, syslog, OSS event streams, packet metadata, KPI feeds, telemetry)
- Strong writing and presentation skills for requirements documents, partner briefs, and executive narratives
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills across multiple concurrent opportunities
- Willing to travel up to 50% of the time
PLUS (preferred):
- Experience working alongside strategic SI or technology partners on joint customer engagements
- Familiarity with semantic layers, ontology, knowledge graphs, or graph analytics
- Hands-on experience designing data products, pipelines, or knowledge structures for AI agent or LLM consumption
