Buildkite is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to join a customer-facing technical sales role. You'll combine hands-on technical expertise with strategic problem-solving to architect impactful solutions for prospective and existing customers.
In this role, you'll partner closely with Sales, Technical Services, Product Management, and Engineering teams. Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying business opportunities aligned with Buildkite's CI/CD platform by partnering with Sales
- Collaborating with customers to understand their CI/CD architecture, workflows, and pain points
- Designing and delivering compelling demonstrations of Buildkite's capabilities
- Leading technical proofs-of-concept to secure technical validation and close deals
- Advising customers on migration strategies from competing solutions to Buildkite's differentiated platform
- Acting as a technical liaison between customers and Product Engineering, providing feedback to shape product direction
- Staying current on emerging CI/CD technologies, DevOps trends, and industry best practices
- Using storytelling and consultative approaches to guide customers through solution validation
- Educating the Sales team to strengthen product knowledge and market positioning
- Representing Buildkite at industry events and conferences to build awareness and engage developer and ops communities
You'll need strong technical knowledge of CI/CD tools (Buildkite, Jenkins, CircleCI, AWS CodePipelines, Azure Pipelines, GitLab), DevOps technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform), and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). You should be passionate about learning emerging build technologies like Bazel and iOS development tools.
Beyond technical skills, you'll excel at communicating complex concepts to diverse audiences, identifying customer needs, and designing tailored solutions. You thrive in fast-paced environments, manage multiple priorities effectively, and collaborate well across cross-functional teams. A consultative, curious approach with strong problem-solving instincts is essential.
