Speechify is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications. With over 50 million users relying on Speechify's text-to-speech products, this role offers high impact and technical ownership. You will be responsible for: - Leading design and architecture of Windows desktop applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML, and C++ as needed - Defining and enforcing best practices for Windows development: code architecture, performance, memory usage, responsive UI, cross-version compatibility (Windows 10/11+), and maintainability - Driving accessibility efforts by integrating and validating support for Windows accessibility APIs, ensuring UI controls, focus management, keyboard navigation, and screen-reader support - Collaborating with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and stakeholders to shape feature planning and long-term roadmap for the Windows platform - Owning the full lifecycle of features from conception through design, implementation, testing, release, and maintenance - Identifying and resolving complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, rendering issues, and compatibility problems Required qualifications include 3+ years of Windows desktop application development using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, and XAML; deep understanding of Windows application architecture and interop between managed and native code; proven track record shipping production-quality desktop applications; strong experience with Windows accessibility APIs; excellent software engineering fundamentals; experience leading technical design and mentoring engineers; and strong communication skills. Preferred experience includes automated UI testing, performance optimization for desktop apps, localization/globalization, telemetry and analytics, CI/CD workflows for desktop applications, and demonstrated ability to own feature areas long-term.
