Zoox is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Software Systems Engineering team, which owns the definition of software development processes and ensures all safety-critical software meets production-grade safety standards for autonomous vehicles.
In this role, you will design and implement methodologies, tools, and processes for safety-critical software that will transform transportation. Drawing on principles from avionics, automotive, and other safety-critical industries, you will collaborate across Zoox's software organization—from cutting-edge AI autonomy systems to highly critical real-time operating systems (RTOS) and middleware components.
You will be responsible for establishing best practices in software development, safety verification, and integration testing. This includes designing CI/CD pipelines, defining code review standards, implementing automated testing frameworks, and ensuring traceability and compliance across the software stack. Your work will directly impact the safety and reliability of autonomous vehicles in production.
This is a high-impact individual contributor role where you will mentor other engineers, influence architectural decisions, and work cross-functionally with autonomy, perception, planning, control, and platform teams. You'll engage with regulatory and safety frameworks while maintaining engineering velocity and quality.
