As a Senior Software Engineer on the Futures and Options Execution Services team, you will design and build the next generation of Clear Street's futures and options EMS (Execution Management System) platform from the ground up. This is a greenfield opportunity to develop a high-performance platform that integrates real-time market data, low-latency exchange connectivity, robust risk controls, and advanced trading capabilities within a fast, responsive web interface.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building a brand new EMS platform for listed futures and options
- Translating product and design requirements into clean, maintainable, well-tested components
- Collaborating closely with product managers, business stakeholders, traders, designers, and backend engineers
- Identifying and resolving performance, accessibility, and usability issues
- Participating in code reviews and contributing to shared component libraries
- Supporting operational health of features and maintaining high SLAs
You will work with a talented, collaborative engineering team using Java and/or Rust, AWS, FIX protocol, Kafka, and Kubernetes. The role requires 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with Java, at least 4 years working with modern technologies at a Senior Engineer level, and hands-on experience building low-latency, front-office trading systems. Deep understanding of EMS workflows, strong software design fundamentals, and commitment to engineering quality are essential.
