Courier Health is a NYC-based healthtech company building patient engagement software for life sciences companies. The platform helps biopharma organizations support patients with chronic and rare diseases from diagnosis through therapy initiation and adherence, delivering measurable improvements in patient starts, time-to-start, and ongoing therapy adherence. As Senior Software Engineer, Frontend, you will own the frontend discipline at a growth-stage company where the architecture, design system, and patterns are still being established. This is an opportunity to set standards that will guide the team for years. Key responsibilities include: **Design System & Architecture**: Build a shared component library and design system that becomes the foundation for the entire engineering team. Define patterns, primitives, and best practices that make the right solution the easy solution. Evolve this system as the product scales while maintaining quality and consistency. **Frontend Infrastructure**: Make structural decisions around state management, data fetching, module boundaries, and performance optimization that enable the codebase to scale from its current size to 10x larger without degradation. These early architectural choices have outsized impact on team velocity. **Feature Ownership**: Work directly with product and design to scope and ship customer-facing features end-to-end. Bring strong UX instincts to the table, push back on flows that don't work, and propose better alternatives. Own features from first sketch through production. **Quality & Tooling**: Build and maintain the shipping pipeline—e2e testing, deployment automation, and observability—that gives the team confidence to ship continuously. Integrate LLM-assisted development as a real productivity multiplier. Participate in on-call rotation and support production systems. **Mentorship**: Raise the ceiling around you by mentoring junior engineers and setting the bar for craft and code quality. The role is office-first with 4 days per week in-office collaboration in NYC, reflecting the company's belief that the best work happens when teams collaborate in person. Required: 6+ years professional software engineering with React and TypeScript; proven ownership of a UI design system (built and evolved, not just consumed); experience with e2e testing and quality tooling at scale; strong UX instincts and user-centered mindset; comfort with ambiguity and early-stage ownership; B.S. or higher in computer science or equivalent industry experience. Bonus: GraphQL, Playwright, TailwindCSS; frontend leadership at early-stage software companies; LLM-integrated features; healthtech or healthcare experience.
