Robinhood is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and evolve core datasets that power decision-making across the organization. The Data Engineering team builds foundational datasets supporting product analytics, growth strategy, financial reporting, experimentation, and machine learning.
In this role, you will design and build scalable data pipelines that ingest application events and database snapshots into the data lake, ensuring high data quality and reliability. You'll develop end-to-end data systems using Python, Spark, and Airflow, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Finance teams. Your work will directly influence how Robinhood measures performance, improves customer experience, and scales its products.
Key responsibilities include defining and evolving key datasets across all product areas, building scalable pipelines to move data from different applications into the data lake, partnering with upstream engineering teams to enhance data generation patterns, and collaborating with data consumers to design intuitive data models. You'll also contribute to shared data engineering tooling, standards, and best practices across the company.
You bring 5+ years of professional experience building end-to-end data pipelines, with hands-on software engineering expertise and the ability to write production-level code in Python. You're expert at building large-scale data pipelines using open-source frameworks like Spark or Flink, have strong SQL skills (Presto, Spark SQL), and experience solving problems across the full data stack. You're a strong collaborator who can democratize data through actionable insights.
The role is based in Menlo Park with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.
