The Partner Merchant Interfaces - Integration team within Decisions Foundations is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work on the APIs that power integrations for partners and merchants, including top-tier partners like Amazon and Stripe.
In this role, you will contribute to backend systems that handle critical integration points for Affirm's partner ecosystem. You'll work collaboratively with your team and stakeholders to design, develop, and launch scalable backend systems. Your responsibilities include balancing speed and quality to meet business goals while maintaining system reliability, contributing to team growth and development, and ensuring clear communication of risks and trade-offs in your work.
You will be expected to take ownership of your growth, proactively seek feedback, and engage in code reviews and debugging within a large codebase. The role requires strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with a global engineering team.
Required qualifications include previous work experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale, with proficiency in Python or Kotlin. You should be familiar with distributed systems concepts and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes. You must demonstrate the ability to translate business problems into solutions that interact with multiple software components, writing clear, well-tested, and extensible code. Experience navigating large codebases and providing constructive feedback through code reviews is essential.
