This Senior Software Engineer role is an individual contributor position focused on owning a product surface end-to-end within Care Finance's provider and partner platform—the systems connecting PayZen to health systems and partners. You will work independently on your assigned surface with guidance on novel domains, operating in a highly regulated environment governed by HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and SOC 2 compliance requirements.
Key responsibilities include delivering reliable, high-quality code with AI-native approaches as standard; identifying gaps and framing problems worth solving while considering data and compliance implications; managing your own dependencies and escalating issues with full context; creating clarity through written communication that non-engineering stakeholders can act on; mentoring junior engineers and participating in hiring; and contributing to shared tooling and internal libraries.
You will need 5+ years of production software engineering experience, the ability to own a product surface end-to-end and work independently, hands-on proficiency in at least one of Java, Go, Python, or TypeScript, and clear written communication skills. Experience with application security and compliance-regulated environments (HIPAA, PCI-DSS, SOC 2) is highly valued.
