As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in realizing HeartFlow's vision of a comprehensive, unified platform for heart disease management. You will design and build the architecture and data modeling for a next-generation distributed system that seamlessly and securely integrates HeartFlow's cloud services with complex, on-premise hospital Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Key responsibilities include: • Design and develop HeartFlow's interoperability services, creating the technical bridge between on-premise hospital EHR systems and AWS cloud infrastructure • Implement data modeling and persistence strategies to structure complex clinical data supporting the unified platform vision • Build and maintain mission-critical data acquisition and ingestion pipelines, ensuring seamless, scalable, and secure extraction and normalization of patient data from diverse hospital networks • Develop highly reliable, secure, and low-maintenance APIs leveraging REST alongside healthcare standards like FHIR and HL7 • Ensure data flows and system integrations adhere to FDA and regulatory standards • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to system design discussions Required expertise includes strong Python development proficiency, Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles, microservices and event-driven architecture design, healthcare interoperability and EHR integration experience, FHIR/HL7 standards knowledge, data modeling and scalable persistence layer architecture, modern cloud ecosystems (AWS), secure RESTful API design, technical leadership and mentoring capabilities, and comprehensive testing strategies for mission-critical applications. You are passionate about realizing the platform vision, championing engineering excellence, and taking ownership of features and components with autonomy and accountability.
