Diligent is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive technical excellence and architect complex AI-enabled systems for their governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) SaaS platform. You will own critical technical decisions, lead major initiatives from conception to production deployment, and establish engineering quality standards across the product portfolio.
In this role, you will architect and lead the development of sophisticated AI-enabled features and infrastructure. This includes designing MCP server architectures, building advanced RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems, implementing agentic AI workflows, and establishing patterns that scale across the product portfolio. You will combine deep technical expertise in both traditional software engineering and AI/ML to deliver production-grade solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of AI integration infrastructure including MCP servers, orchestration layers, and API gateways
- Build sophisticated AI features including advanced RAG systems, agentic workflows, and multi-step reasoning capabilities
- Establish AI engineering best practices, security patterns, and quality standards across the organization
- Lead technical initiatives from requirements through production deployment
- Make critical architectural decisions balancing performance, scalability, cost, and maintainability
- Design AI evaluation frameworks and implement quality benchmarks
- Debug and resolve complex production issues across traditional and AI systems
- Mentor junior engineers and drive technical design discussions

REQUIREMENTS:
Core Technical Skills:
- 5+ years of professional software development with proven track record of delivering complex systems
- Strong Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript expertise
- Advanced React and frontend architecture skills
- Extensive AWS architecture experience
- Expert-level PostgreSQL database design, optimization, and performance tuning
- Deep understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and API design
- Mastery of software design patterns and clean code practices
Tech Stack (Core):
- Node.js, React, TypeScript, AWS, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Docker
AI/ML Expertise (1+ years required):
- 1+ years hands-on experience building and deploying production AI/ML features
- Strong Python development with AI/ML framework expertise
- Deep understanding of AWS with strong AWS Bedrock exposure
- Expert-level experience designing and implementing MCP servers and AI integration architectures
- Advanced prompt engineering skills including chain-of-thought, few-shot learning, and optimization
- Experience building agentic AI systems with multi-agent orchestration and tool use
Tech Stack (AI & Integration):
- Python, MCP, AWS Bedrock, LangGraph/Semantic Kernel, Vector Databases, RAG
AI Production Excellence:
- Designs comprehensive AI evaluation frameworks with quality metrics
- Deep understanding of AI challenges: hallucinations, context limits, latency, and costs
- Implements robust monitoring and observability for AI systems
- Expertise in AI security: prompt injection prevention and data leakage mitigation
- Champions responsible AI: bias detection, fairness, and transparency
Technical Leadership:
- Leads technical design discussions and drives consensus
- Identifies systemic issues proactively
- Makes sound judgment under uncertainty
- Mentors junior engineers
