MaintainX, now part of Autodesk Operations Solutions, is seeking a Senior Software Developer in Test (SDET) to build and evolve the shared quality platform and testing infrastructure used across the engineering organization. As a Senior SDET on the Quality Platform team, you will own the testing frameworks, automation tooling, and developer experience that enable all product engineering teams to ship quickly and confidently.
Key responsibilities include designing and building AI-assisted test authoring infrastructure that reduces test creation time while maintaining quality; establishing CI/CD integration standards and improving build reliability; creating test harnesses for AI-powered product capabilities including health checks, graceful degradation, and adversarial testing; identifying and eliminating systemic test debt and flaky tests; building shared testing utilities and frameworks adopted organization-wide; and partnering with Quality Advocates, product engineering teams, and SRE to continuously improve testing strategy.
You will evaluate emerging AI testing tools and drive adoption where they create measurable engineering impact. This is a platform engineering role focused on developer productivity and release confidence rather than testing for a single product area.
Required qualifications include hands-on experience building production-grade test automation frameworks using Playwright, Selenium, or similar technologies; strong software engineering fundamentals with experience writing and maintaining production application code; experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines; experience building or maintaining shared developer tooling and testing infrastructure; proficiency with AI development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor; comfort owning systems end-to-end from architecture through production support; and experience mentoring engineers to raise engineering quality across teams. Expert-level English proficiency is required for cross-team leadership and executive communication.
Nice-to-have skills include experience building test harnesses for AI-powered features, building autonomous or agentic AI systems, evaluating AI-powered developer tools, building observability and quality metrics into testing platforms, and working with large-scale developer platforms supporting multiple engineering teams.
