MaintainX, now part of Autodesk Operations Solutions, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build the company's public-facing REST API platform and ecosystem. You'll own the full lifecycle of APIs that power integrations for 13,000+ customers including Duracell, McDonald's, Shell, DHL, and Volvo. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing scalable REST APIs with a focus on developer experience, consistency, and reliability. You'll establish platform standards around authentication, authorization, rate limiting, versioning, pagination, and backwards compatibility. The role involves decoupling the REST API layer from monolithic dependencies, implementing contract testing to ensure stability across GraphQL and REST interfaces, and building robust batch/bulk operations for enterprise data synchronization and migrations. You'll create developer scaffolding, templates, and shared libraries to accelerate connector and integration development. This includes improving CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and quality gates for integrations and ecosystem services. You'll produce comprehensive developer documentation, reference implementations, and SDKs. A significant portion of the work involves building the foundations for an integrations marketplace (similar to Workato or Tray), including publishing workflows, versioning, and support infrastructure. You'll design standardized integration foundations and reusable building blocks for enterprise systems like SAP, Oracle EBS, NetSuite, and Microsoft Dynamics. You'll own production services end-to-end: monitoring, on-call rotation, incident response, root-cause analysis, and iterative hardening. Performance tuning and reliability improvements are driven by data (SLIs/SLOs, logs, traces, metrics). Required: 4+ years building backend systems, APIs, or platform products. Strong experience with service-oriented architecture and proficiency in TypeScript, Go, or C#. Deep knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL), distributed systems fundamentals, and production-grade API design. Strong testing mindset and hands-on CI/CD experience. Cross-functional collaboration skills with Product, Design, and customer-facing teams. Nice-to-have: experience with integration ecosystems, iPaaS platforms, enterprise identity/security patterns (OAuth2/OIDC), ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics), and self-serve developer tooling.
