As the first dedicated Security Engineer, you'll own security implementation across applications, cloud infrastructure, and AI systems in a HIPAA-regulated environment. This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll write code, automate workflows, and strengthen security foundations alongside rapid business growth.
Key responsibilities include: vulnerability management, dependency security, threat modeling, and security code reviews; strengthening AWS security posture, IAM, SSO/SAML/SCIM, endpoint security, and incident response; designing security controls for AI-powered products and LLM workflows, including protections against prompt injection and data leakage; implementing technical safeguards for PHI and sensitive data in AI systems; supporting HIPAA, SOC 2, and compliance programs; leveraging AI-powered security tooling and automation; building self-service security solutions and runbooks for engineers; and partnering with Engineering and IT on pragmatic, scalable solutions.
You'll report to the IT Lead and serve as a force multiplier for the Pod-Infra team. The role emphasizes building security at a company using AI to improve healthcare access for underserved communities, combining technical depth with mission-driven impact.
