Amplitude is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to lead technical strategy for enterprise deals across LATAM, based in Sao Paulo. You'll serve as the technical quarterback for strategic opportunities, partnering with Account Executives to close complex, multi-stakeholder deals by translating product analytics capabilities into measurable business outcomes for Product, Marketing, and Analytics leaders.
In this role, you'll spend 70% of your time on deal execution: leading technical evaluations for deals ranging from $100K to $1M+ ARR, conducting deep discovery to map prospect workflows and tech stack dependencies, designing and executing hands-on proof-of-concepts using the prospect's actual data, handling technical objections around data architecture and compliance, and presenting to C-level executives with ROI narratives.
You'll dedicate 20% of your time to internal collaboration: partnering with Product Management to communicate feature gaps affecting deal velocity, working with Customer Success on smooth implementation handoffs, and mentoring junior Sales Engineers on technical positioning and demo best practices.
The remaining 10% focuses on thought leadership: contributing competitive intelligence on analytics tools like Google Analytics 4, Adobe Analytics, and Mixpanel, and developing reusable demo assets and proof-of-concept frameworks for the broader SE team.
You'll need 5+ years in software pre-sales (Sales Engineering, Sales Consulting, or technical Account Management). Language requirements are strict: English and Spanish are required; tri-lingual capability (adding Portuguese) is strongly preferred. You must be comfortable with technical concepts and be a self-learner in areas like Python, SQL, hyperscaler integrations, and APIs. Hands-on SQL experience is essential—you should be able to write joins, aggregations, and window functions to analyze behavioral data. You'll need a track record of closing technical evaluations in competitive enterprise deals and comfort presenting to both engineers and business stakeholders.
Strongly preferred qualifications include 2+ years with product analytics, experimentation platforms, or customer data platforms; experience with event-based data models and tracking implementations; familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI); previous SaaS sales experience targeting Product, Growth, or Marketing teams; and understanding of regional data privacy implications for analytics tools.
Success metrics: In your first 90 days, you'll ramp on Amplitude's platform, complete 3+ customer-facing demos, and contribute to 2 proof-of-concepts. In your first year, you'll influence closed-won ARR, maintain a 70%+ technical win rate, and develop 2 reusable assets for the team.
