Ping Identity is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to drive pre-sales activities and customer success for its cloud identity platform. You will merge technical expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM) with consultative selling, engaging customers through demonstrations, proof of concepts, and technical guidance.
Key responsibilities include delivering pre-sales activities such as solution demonstrations, presentations, and RfX responses; serving as the trusted technical advisor for customers, partners, and internal teams; establishing enduring customer relationships; and collaborating with sales teams to drive revenue during qualification, discovery, and technical proof phases. You will lead customer-facing meetings both virtually and in-person, provide feedback on product enhancements to product owners, mentor junior team members, and develop subject matter expert-level knowledge of at least one Ping Identity solution. Travel of 15-40% is required.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, or 5+ years of enterprise software experience in customer-facing roles (pre-sales, consulting, support, training). You must have deep knowledge of identity protocols (SAML, WS-Fed, OAuth, OIDC, SCIM) and underlying technologies (LDAP, Active Directory, SSL/TLS, PKI, RADIUS, SQL, DNS, JDBC). Experience with modern programming languages (JavaScript, Python, Node.js, Java) and web technologies is essential. Strong expertise in developing technical presentations, workshops, and proof of concepts is required, along with excellent communication skills and ability to link technical capabilities to customer needs. Knowledge of IAM concepts (authentication, authorization, federation, SSO, user lifecycle management, provisioning, governance) and familiarity with infrastructure, networking, and cloud service providers are expected.
