Salary: USD 122,400 - 160,000 / annual
Mapbox is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to join its finance team and support day-to-day revenue accounting operations for a rapidly growing, venture-backed location platform company. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with sales, account management, and finance teams to drive process improvements, automation, and operational excellence across revenue accounting functions.
Key responsibilities include: executing the order-to-cash process by reviewing sales orders for proper revenue recognition and compliance; preparing accounting entries and reconciliations for deferred revenue and unbilled items; reviewing accounts receivable aging and supporting allowance and write-off recommendations; assisting with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes including fluctuation analysis; providing supporting documentation for internal and external audit requests; maintaining internal process documentation; and executing special projects and ad-hoc reporting as needed.
You will thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where priorities shift and you must balance precision with adaptability. The role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, ERP system proficiency (NetSuite or similar with advanced revenue modules), and Excel/Google Sheets expertise. You should be detail-oriented, results-focused, and comfortable working under pressure while maintaining accuracy on weekly and monthly billing deadlines.
Required qualifications: BS in Finance or Accounting; 3+ years of relevant revenue or general accounting experience; solid understanding of GAAP; hands-on NetSuite or comparable ERP experience with revenue modules; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets; strong time management and communication skills. Preferred: CPA with Big 4 experience; familiarity with Stripe, Salesforce, or FloQast.
