Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to ensure the company's revenue recognition complies with US GAAP and internal policies while driving AI-powered automation across accounting processes. This hybrid role is based in Austin, San Francisco, or New York City.
You will own revenue accounting operations with a focus on modernizing workflows through AI and automation tools. Key responsibilities include participating in monthly accounting closes, managing contract accounting for executed customer agreements, preparing and reviewing journal entries and reconciliations, and conducting deal reviews with legal and sales teams. You'll proactively identify and implement AI-driven solutions to streamline complex revenue accounting tasks, particularly around token-based usage and evolving AI-related revenue streams.
Beyond day-to-day accounting, you'll mentor junior team members, present findings to senior management, establish and track KPIs, support external audit processes, and maintain internal controls as the business evolves. You'll also participate in company-wide AI initiatives that impact revenue analytics and reporting capabilities.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; active CPA license; 4+ years of accounting experience (audit/accounting firm experience preferred); strong expertise in ASC 606 revenue recognition standards; hands-on experience with revenue systems (billing, ERP, revenue recognition subledgers); SaaS revenue accounting knowledge including multi-element arrangements; and proven ability to leverage AI and automation tools to drive process improvements. You must be comfortable managing multiple priorities, working cross-functionally with sales and other departments, and staying current on evolving GAAP requirements.
