Abnormal AI, a computer and network security company, is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to join its Accounting team. This role offers meaningful ownership of key revenue close processes in a high-growth SaaS environment, reporting to Crystal He.
You will own the preparation and review of monthly revenue-related reconciliations, rollforwards, and supporting schedules. Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing journal entries and flux analyses for revenue, deferred revenue, accounts receivable, commissions, and related accounts. You'll maintain complete, audit-ready documentation for recurring close activities, including organized workpapers, reconciliations, and supporting evidence.
The role requires leading assigned revenue close deliverables to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with established policies and controls. You'll investigate and resolve accounting issues, unusual items, and reconciling differences in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders including Deal Desk, FP&A, Legal, and other teams. Supporting external audits by preparing documentation, coordinating requests, and responding to inquiries is also central to the position.
A key aspect of this role is identifying and driving opportunities to streamline close activities through standardization, automation, and AI-enabled workflows—aligning with Abnormal AI's focus on leveraging technology to improve efficiency and scalability.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, plus 4+ years of progressive accounting, audit, or finance experience. You must have strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP with experience applying revenue recognition guidance. Demonstrated experience owning or leading recurring close activities in a fast-paced environment is essential, along with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and advanced Excel proficiency.
Nice-to-have qualifications include experience with ASC 606 and ASC 340-40 in SaaS environments, background at Big Four firms or high-growth pre-IPO companies, familiarity with ERP and close-management systems (NetSuite, Salesforce, Maxio, FloQast), and CPA licensure or progress toward it.
