Overview AI is a VC-backed, YC-backed company building edge AI vision systems for manufacturing quality inspection. The company has grown 700% year-over-year and serves leading global manufacturers including Tesla, SpaceX, and Amphenol. They are scaling their team globally with a growing engineering and operations presence in China.
You will own recruiting for the China operation end-to-end, serving as the talent partner to hiring managers and working directly with the Global Head of Recruiting. This is a senior, autonomous role—not a requisition-processing seat. You will source, assess, and close senior and technical talent yourself while building the playbook, calibration standards, and processes that make hiring in the region repeatable and fast.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own recruiting outcomes for the region from hiring approach through accepted offer, operating with full autonomy and anticipating blockers before they surface.
- Set the standard for how hiring runs in China and hold the bar as the team scales; build playbooks, calibration guides, and processes that make strong hiring repeatable.
- Personally source senior and hard-to-fill talent with low reliance on agencies; proactively build a healthy mix of self-sourced and inbound pipeline.
- Own the regional talent map and maintain warm networks for priority and future roles; develop strong understanding of the manufacturing talent market in China.
- Partner with hiring managers as an advisor, not an order-taker: shape the role, the bar, and the search strategy; screen with discipline and deep alignment to business needs.
- Interview to vet exactly what hiring managers need to decide; give them specific insight to move or cut candidates with confidence; read motivation, working style, values, and culture fit beyond the resume.
- Build authentic trust with senior candidates through thoughtful, timely communication; tell the Overview story credibly without being sales-driven.
- Keep candidates and stakeholders aligned across time zones, balancing urgency with world-class candidate experience.
- Mentor and raise the standard for others as the recruiting team grows.
