Hayden AI is building computer vision systems to transform how transit agencies and government organizations address real-world challenges—from bus lane enforcement to transportation optimization. As Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you will own end-to-end quality for embedded software deployed in live transportation environments.
You will drive quality through well-defined testing processes and disciplined release management. Key responsibilities include establishing and executing manual and automated test strategies, defining quality gates, managing regression cycles, and ensuring release readiness across embedded software versions. You'll own the complete release lifecycle: test planning, risk assessment, defect triage, release sign-off, and post-release validation.
Working closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and Operations teams, you will architect Python-based automation frameworks for regression and smoke testing, validate complex system behaviors involving embedded devices and sensor data, and investigate defects through root cause analysis. You'll implement automated and manual test suites within CI/CD pipelines, develop quality metrics and dashboards for stakeholder transparency, and guide junior engineers to scale quality workflows across the engineering organization.
The role requires minimum 7 years in QA, Test Engineering, or SDET roles with strong focus on structured testing. You must have hands-on experience testing embedded systems or IoT platforms, strong Python proficiency for test automation, expertise in system-level and integration testing, and solid understanding of SDLC and CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with video pipelines, streaming systems, or sensor-driven workflows is valuable. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience required.
Preferred qualifications include experience testing AI/ML-driven systems, familiarity with backend services and distributed systems, and hands-on experience with observability tools like Grafana or Datadog.
