Salary: USD 210,300 - 300,000 / annual

You will lead Harvey's government and public sector legal function, partnering with go-to-market, business, engineering, product, and security teams to drive relationships with and sales to government agencies. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of AI innovation and public sector transformation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advising cross-functional teams on public sector procurement processes, proposals, and go-to-market strategies for selling Harvey's platform to government agencies
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex government contracts, AI SaaS agreements, and technology-related agreements with federal, state, and local government customers and prime contractors, ensuring compliance with FAR and agency-specific requirements
- Providing contract lifecycle counsel, including contract administration, performance issues, and government contracting compliance obligations
- Training and developing resources for legal and cross-functional teams
- Contributing to broader legal work supporting the company as it grows
You bring 7+ years of law firm and/or in-house experience with a strong transactional background in complex SaaS, technology, and IP licensing agreements, with particular expertise in government contracts and public sector transactions. You have deep working knowledge of government procurement regimes (FAR, DFARS, related regulations) and experience advising businesses on selling into government and public sector markets. You're admitted to practice law in good standing (California, New York, or DC preferred) and thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments with strong project management skills. Bonus qualifications include prior government service, AI experience, go-to-market/sales support background, and passion for solving hard problems with small, tight-knit teams.
