Salary: USD 210,300 - 300,000 / annual

You will lead Harvey's government and public sector legal function, serving as a bridge between go-to-market, business, and cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, Security). Your primary focus is building relationships with government agencies and enabling efficient execution of agreements with federal, state, and local government customers and prime contractors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with cross-functional teams on government opportunities and advise on public sector procurement processes, proposals, and go-to-market strategies
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex government contracts, AI SaaS agreements, and technology-related agreements with government customers and prime contractors, ensuring FAR and agency-specific compliance
- Provide contract lifecycle counsel including administration, performance issues, and government contracting compliance obligations
- Develop training resources and support legal and cross-functional teams
You'll need 7+ years of law firm and/or in-house transactional experience with strong expertise in complex SaaS, technology, IP licensing, and government contracts. Deep knowledge of government procurement regimes (FAR, DFARS) and experience advising businesses on government sales strategy is essential. You must be admitted to practice in California, New York, or DC (preferred). The role offers flexibility across multiple office locations (New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas) with hybrid work (3 days/week in office) or full remote if based elsewhere in the US.
