Dominion Dynamics is seeking a Senior Project Manager for the Aircraft Program Development (ACP) initiative. You will own the engineering scope, schedule, development cost, and risk for the ACP aircraft as a complete system—not individual subsystems. You will be technically fluent across all engineering disciplines (Aerodynamics, Structures, Avionics, GNC, Propulsion, Mission Systems, Autonomy) and monitor their technical trades against the program baseline.
You will carry the program through its full lifecycle: concept, requirements, design, integration, ground test, and flight test. When design decisions create conflicts between disciplines or when schedule and physics disagree, you ensure the right decision maker is engaged quickly. You provide the ACP Program Manager with reliable, accurate assessments of engineering scope, schedule, cost, and risk.
Key responsibilities include:
- Hold accountability for engineering scope, schedule, and development cost against the baseline
- Maintain the integrated program schedule and risk register
- Define scope and timeline across all engineering disciplines as the accountable leader
- Ensure technical teams complete configuration and program reviews (SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR) with supporting data packages
- Manage technical execution of engineering subcontracts and development partner statements of work
- Provide engineering inputs to manufacturing, procurement, and partnership plans
- Represent the engineering baseline at technical reviews with customer (CAF) engineering staff
You will work closely with the ACP Program Manager, who owns the business case, partnerships, procurement, manufacturing strategy, and customer relationship. Your focus is the engineering effort: disciplines, baseline, integration, and pace.
The role is based in Ottawa and Montreal, on-site, reporting to William Richardson, ACP Program Manager. This is a full-time position with a high-growth, venture-backed defense technology company building real capability for the Canadian Armed Forces and allies.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years progressing complex technical programs in aerospace or defense with real authority over scope, schedule, and cost
- Technical fluency to monitor engineering trades across multiple disciplines for completeness
- Experience carrying a program through full lifecycle: concept through flight test or fielding
- Experience briefing status, risk, and trade-offs to senior internal leadership and customer technical staff at design reviews
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a Canadian security clearance (Secret or higher)
- Degree in Engineering
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with Integrated Master Schedule and standard PM tooling (MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet)
- Background on uncrewed or autonomous aircraft programs
- Supplier and technology-partner management experience on flight hardware programs
- PMP or equivalent program management certification
- Exposure to RCAF, DND, or NATO airworthiness pathways for uncrewed systems
No defense background required. The company welcomes applications from candidates who don't tick every box.
