Clear Street is building a unified, cloud-native capital markets platform that gives sophisticated investors access to every asset in every market. The company's mission is to democratize institutional-grade technology and service for modern investors.
As a Senior Production Engineer, you will own the health, resilience, and recovery of Clear Street's production systems while driving innovation to eliminate operational toil and raise reliability across the platform. You'll split your time between hands-on incident response and production support (50%) and building lasting automation, tooling, and observability solutions (50%).
Key responsibilities include:
• Design and build comprehensive monitoring and observability platforms that surface critical signals, eliminate alert fatigue, and accelerate root-cause analysis
• Develop intelligent automation and self-healing capabilities that diagnose issues, trigger recovery workflows, and reduce mean time to recovery (MTTR)
• Analyze incidents to identify systemic trends and engineer solutions that prevent entire classes of failures
• Build reusable runbooks, diagnostic tooling, and recovery playbooks that scale tribal knowledge into platform capabilities
• Create golden-path operational workflows that make the safest, most reliable approach also the easiest for engineering teams
• Partner with Platform Engineering to influence CI/CD pipelines, deployment safety, and infrastructure resilience
• Champion Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, and SRE best practices across the organization
• Measure and drive production health through SLIs/SLOs/SLAs, using reliability data to inform engineering priorities
• Explore emerging technologies including AI-assisted diagnostics and developer tooling
You will work closely with engineering, operations, and business teams to understand pain points and translate them into automated solutions. This role sits at the intersection of software reliability and operational excellence, requiring both deep technical expertise and a systems-thinking mindset.
