GitLab is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the Tenant Scale initiative within Infrastructure Platforms. This role focuses on enabling GitLab to support large, complex customers across departments, projects, and regions through improved tenant data portability, scalability, and unified deployment models.
You will drive product direction for tenant scale and unified deployment capabilities across GitLab.com, Dedicated, and future deployment models. Key responsibilities include defining requirements for the unified deployment platform, partnering with highly technical engineering teams to translate infrastructure constraints into clear product direction, and collaborating with product peers across the platforms organization.
You'll engage with internal and external customers to understand needs around isolation, regional deployment, compliance, and operational readiness. You'll facilitate tradeoff discussions around scalability, tenant encapsulation, deployment consistency, and platform unification. A core part of this role is translating complex technical concepts into product plans, priorities, and documentation that align distributed teams on delivery milestones.
The role operates in a collaborative team model where product managers share ownership across a common pool of work and focus on areas where they can have the most impact. In your first year, you'll move this work from concept into a deployment model that engineering teams can build upon.
You should bring experience managing product work in technical domains such as infrastructure, scalability, platform architecture, software delivery, or cloud services. You'll need the ability to work effectively with deeply technical engineering teams and build credibility in system design discussions. Knowledge of how SaaS and platform-based systems scale—including multitenancy, horizontal scalability, autoscaling, workload isolation, and production readiness—is essential. You should be comfortable working with customers on complex requirements including operational, compliance, or regional deployment needs, and skilled at turning ambiguous technical problems into clear product strategy and actionable plans.
