PhotoRoom is a leading visual solution for e-commerce, founded in 2019 and part of Y Combinator's 2020 cohort. The company has raised Series B funding, reached 300+ million users worldwide, and processes over 5 billion images annually. PhotoRoom serves both small businesses and major enterprises (Amazon, DoorDash, Decathlon) through mobile app, web platform, and API.
You will own activation, monetization, and retention for PhotoRoom's SMB e-commerce segment across mobile and web apps. This is a growth-focused role where you'll own the levers that convert sign-ups into retained subscribers and drive growth-led features. You'll partner closely with User Acquisition on the paid-to-product handoff and with the core SMB product team on feature prioritization.
Key responsibilities:
- Own a specific slice of the growth funnel (activation, paywall, pricing, or retention) end-to-end, leading a squad and deciding what gets tested, built, or killed
- Run a high-velocity experimentation program across web and mobile, shipping A/B tests weekly and larger feature bets based on data
- Identify why users drop off and ship changes to fix it
- Own both web and mobile funnels, understanding their different behaviors (App Store vs. card-on-file, push vs. email)
- Use data to make decisions, not justify them; pull and interpret data yourself, form hypotheses, measure results, and determine next steps
The role is based in Paris with relocation support offered. The company emphasizes flexible working hours, hybrid work, and async-first operations with high autonomy.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5–8 years as a PM with concrete, named activation, monetization, or retention wins (including KPI, change, and percentage impact) that you personally owned
- Experience working on subscription products with recurring revenue (B2B SaaS, B2C subscription, or B2B2C); pure marketplace or free-product backgrounds will struggle
- Understanding of how SMB e-commerce sellers discover, evaluate, and adopt utility SaaS (familiarity with Shopify, Canva, Klaviyo, Stripe, Klarna, Gorgias, Recharge, Loop, Wix, Squarespace ecosystems)
- Funnel thinking: understanding activation curves, paywall psychology, trial design, and pricing models (credit-based, feature-gated, seat-based)
- Ability to use AI tools (Claude or equivalent) to automate recurring tasks and ship faster
- Data fluency: comfortable with SQL and analytics platforms (Amplitude, Mixpanel); able to build and interpret funnels independently and ship high volumes of A/B tests in the last 12 months
- Ability to thrive in small teams with high autonomy, ship without management, and operate in fully remote, async-first environments
Nice to have: experience on both web and mobile funnels; familiarity with Shopify ecosystem or comparable e-commerce platform; entrepreneurial experience (started, built, or run something).
