As Senior Product Manager for Retail Planning, you will own product strategy and execution for major retail planning workflows across Hardlines and Softlines categories. Your core responsibilities include developing deep expertise in how retailers make assortment, inventory, allocation, replenishment, and pricing decisions; translating complex, interconnected planning problems into clear product primitives and workflows; and working directly with retail customers to identify where existing planning systems fail and where Lyric can deliver step-change improvements.
This role is fundamentally about reimagining retail planning for an agent-first world. Rather than simply digitizing existing workflows, you'll determine which planning decisions should remain planner-led, which should become AI-assisted, and which can become truly autonomous. You'll challenge assumptions about what planning software should do, design human-agent interactions that give planners leverage while preserving their judgment and control, and collaborate with AI/ML and engineering teams to build products that reason across large retail datasets and orchestrate multi-step workflows.
You'll spend significant time embedded with planning teams, operators, and retail leaders to develop strong intuition around category differences, channels, seasonality, inventory structures, and retail operating models. You'll separate customer requests from underlying problems and build generalizable solutions. Success is measured by whether your products actually change planner behavior and improve retail decisions—not by feature delivery velocity.
The ideal candidate has 6+ years of product management experience building complex B2B, enterprise, data, planning, optimization, or decision-support products. Strong understanding of retail planning (Hardlines and/or Softlines) and experience with assortment, inventory, allocation, replenishment, merchandising, pricing, or forecasting domains is highly valuable. You should be comfortable with data-heavy products, skilled at customer discovery, and able to operate with high autonomy in ambiguous environments.
