Mercor is an AI data company that organizes human expertise to power frontier AI models. The company operates a platform where millions of domain experts are paid to train AI systems, moving over $4 million daily to contributors across nearly every country. Mercor is a profitable Series C company valued at $10 billion. As Senior Product Manager for Payments, you will own the end-to-end payout experience for hundreds of thousands of experts globally. This is a high-autonomy role reporting directly to leadership, where you'll balance long-term platform strategy with rapid execution while making decisions that directly impact expert trust, operational costs, and company profitability. Key responsibilities include: - Owning the complete payout experience from contract terms and time capture through disbursement, retries, and support resolution - Building and maintaining the ledger and money movement platform, ensuring every dollar is correct, traceable, and auditable at scale - Expanding global payout coverage by growing available rails, methods, and currencies while weighing cost, speed, reliability, and regulatory requirements - Working backwards from payout costs, failure rates, support volume, and expert retention to prioritize what gets built - Writing specifications and PRDs, building dashboards, investigating failed payouts, and making small code contributions to unblock engineering - Collaborating closely with engineering, finance, compliance, operations, and support teams You'll own payouts and disbursement across global rails and currencies, the ledger and reconciliation system, contracts and earnings logic, and payments operations tooling that enables a small team to operate at enormous scale. The ideal candidate has 6+ years of product management experience with meaningful time specifically on payouts or disbursements (not just payments acceptance or checkout). Prior software engineering, machine learning, or data science experience is preferred. You should have working knowledge of payout rails, double-entry accounting, reconciliation, FX, KYC, and tax/compliance requirements across markets. You take full accountability for outcomes, can self-direct in ambiguous contexts, are technically fluent enough to build MVPs and query data independently, frequently engage with users and stakeholders, and balance rigorous experimentation with visionary thinking.
