Datadog is seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to lead the next generation of database monitoring and AI-powered optimization capabilities. In this role, you will own the product strategy and execution for database observability, working to transform how customers operate and extract value from their databases—from legacy SQL systems (AWS RDS, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) to modern NoSQL datastores (MongoDB, MySQL).
You will lead ambitious product investments by diving into customer problems, collaborating directly with SRE teams, DBAs, and application developers to understand their pain points, and shipping innovative products and features. Your responsibilities include defining and launching next-generation database monitoring and optimization capabilities, developing deep expertise in database management systems, and continuously evolving the product with emerging technologies including AI tools and agents.
You'll work closely with a talented engineering team that has a proven track record of disrupting observability approaches. Cross-functional collaboration is essential—you'll partner with marketing, sales, customer success, and support teams to develop go-to-market strategies for database monitoring, data observability, and APM features. You'll also collaborate with other Datadog product teams to ensure seamless integration across the platform and help customers identify incident root causes faster.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of product management experience in cloud or developer tools, with strong familiarity with databases. You should be comfortable using AI tools for research and building, with hands-on experience developing AI products and evaluation frameworks (manual evaluations, golden datasets, LLM-as-judge approaches). Excellent communication skills, customer focus, high quality standards, and a passion for high-growth, high-impact environments are essential.
