PhotoRoom is a leading visual solution for e-commerce, founded in 2019 and part of Y Combinator's 2020 cohort. The company has raised Series B funding, reached 300+ million users worldwide, and processes over 5 billion images annually. You will own the self-serve product experience for SMB customers—small to medium brands selling on Shopify and beyond. This is an unbuilt proposition with a squad you'll shape, and you'll own the corresponding slice of ARR. Working closely with engineers, designers, and AI researchers, you'll decide what gets built, why, and how it ships.
Key responsibilities:
- Own a real slice of the self-serve product, from idea to shipped feature, building and executing the roadmap that solves problems for users.
- Define the problem before the solution: sharpen the user problem, then partner with design and engineering to ship work that feels effortless.
- Turn AI capabilities into products people want by working hand-in-hand with researchers and engineers to convert new model capabilities into shipped features that move usage and revenue.
- Stay close to the user by talking to e-commerce sellers every week and feeding insights directly into roadmap decisions.
- Use data to decide, not to justify: pull and interpret data yourself, form hypotheses, measure what shipped, and call what's next without waiting for someone else to run queries.
The role is based in Paris with a hybrid arrangement (3 days in the office). Relocation support is offered.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Five+ years as a PM with multiple launches where you can name the user problem, what you owned personally vs. the team, and the measured outcome.
- Experience building B2B SaaS for self-serve customers; you know the mechanics of self-serve growth, retention, and pricing, not just enterprise sales cycles.
- Daily use of AI tools (Claude or equivalent) for prototyping, testing with users, or automating parts of the job; you bring value through strategy and direction, not writing tickets.
- Demonstrable product taste: ability to show specific work where details matter and explain the calls you made, including ones you'd make differently now.
- Ability to create clarity from ambiguity: given a fuzzy problem, you take action rather than waiting for direction; you structure it, decide what matters, and move.
- Data fluency: you pull, interpret, and challenge data yourself, and use it to form a point of view rather than confirm one.
- Thrive in small teams with high autonomy; you can ship without being managed and operate in a fully remote, async-first environment with no scaffolding.
Nice to have: experience building creative tools or products where craft and visual quality matter; understanding of photography or videography; entrepreneurial experience (started, built, or run something).
