n8n is an open-source workflow orchestration platform for the AI era, enabling technical teams to automate faster with the freedom of code and speed of no-code. The company has grown to 260+ employees since 2019, with 650K+ active developers, 190K+ GitHub stars, and a $5.2bn valuation backed by Sequoia and SAP. As Senior Product Manager for Core Platform, you will own the foundational product strategy and roadmap that underpins n8n's next growth phase. Your primary goal is making the Core Platform more scalable, reliable, secure, and flexible as customer usage and technical complexity increase. Key responsibilities include: **Strategy & Roadmap**: Define and communicate Core Platform product strategy in partnership with Engineering and Product leadership. Prioritize foundational investments based on customer impact, enterprise needs, technical risk, and engineering effort. Make trade-offs between near-term customer needs, technical debt, and long-term architecture explicit. Lead product discovery for technically complex problems, engaging directly with enterprise customers and internal teams. **Execution Engine**: Drive work on scalability and reliability of n8n's execution engine, including worker pools and distributed execution. Improve reliability of triggers and execution behavior across complex deployment setups (multi-main Cloud, self-hosted enterprise). Shape secure and flexible approaches to code execution within n8n. **Cross-Org Alignment**: Drive planning and release of major or breaking platform versions, including migration strategy, stakeholder communication, and risk management. Establish success measures and keep teams accountable for outcomes. Act as bridge between Core team and wider organization (Product, Sales, Solutions Engineering, Customer Success, Support). Treat internal product teams as platform customers, proactively mining their roadmaps for implicit platform requirements. Required qualifications: 5+ years in Product with 2-3 years on platform, infrastructure, developer-facing, or backend/API products. Technical credibility with senior engineers—ability to reason about distributed systems, execution models, and reliability/scalability trade-offs. Track record leading cross-team technical initiatives with real delivery risk, ideally including migrations or breaking changes. Exceptional communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences. Understanding of enterprise platform realities (self-hosted, air-gapped, restricted deployments). Nice-to-haves: hands-on coding ability, B2B SaaS experience (security, compliance, deployment), security partnership experience, workflow automation or open-source community familiarity, writing culture.
