Code Metal is an AI-driven software engineering platform that uses formal methods to produce provably correct code. The company serves high-stakes industries including aerospace, defense, automotive, and semiconductors, with customers like the U.S. Air Force, L3Harris, RTX, and Toshiba.
You will own product strategy and execution for a core outcome area focused on code translation, modernization, prototyping, and porting across languages (C++, Rust, Python, CUDA, MATLAB, and others), standards, and hardware targets. This is a growth role: you'll start with a focused charter covering a defined subset of customer scenarios and expand scope as you build technical depth and organizational credibility.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own the roadmap end-to-end from discovery through delivery and iteration
- Conduct customer discovery with technical stakeholders (engineers, architects, tech leads)
- Rapidly learn unfamiliar technical domains (language semantics, toolchains, hardware constraints) and synthesize insights into product direction
- Work closely with Engineering to understand technical tradeoffs and make informed prioritization decisions
- Write clear PRDs that translate ambiguity into specific plans
- Make thoughtful tradeoffs between customer value, technical complexity, and speed
- Represent your outcome area in cross-functional and customer-facing conversations
- Grow your charter over time into adjacent scenarios
This is a highly collaborative role where Product, Engineering, UX, and Growth operate as peers throughout discovery, planning, and execution.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of Product Management experience building technical software products
- Experience owning software products from discovery through launch in a technical B2B, enterprise, or platform environment
- Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn new industries, technologies, and customer domains without deep prior subject-matter expertise
- Strong customer discovery and user research skills, with ability to translate insights into roadmap decisions
- Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where priorities evolve
- Comfortable engaging with technical concepts such as language semantics, toolchains, or hardware constraints
- Demonstrated MVP thinking and ability to scope the smallest valuable slice of a problem
- Self-awareness about expertise edges and track record of learning new technical domains quickly
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills across executive, technical, and customer audiences
- Must be able to pass a standard background check
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience building developer tools, platform products, compilers, embedded systems, or other technically sophisticated products where the customer is often another engineer
- Experience working directly with highly technical customers, engineers, and domain experts
- Prior exposure to automotive, kernel development, aerospace, semiconductor, or regulated/safety-critical industries
- Experience bringing new products from concept through launch in early-stage or high-growth environments
