Truecaller is seeking a Senior Product Manager to own the full Recommendations portfolio—Ads, Business Messaging, Premium, and Growth—working from Stockholm and reporting to the Associate Director. This is a broad, senior individual contributor role where you will own the roadmap across multiple monetization surfaces, translate business goals from commercial, growth, and premium stakeholders into ML product bets, and guide where a specialized engineering and data science team allocates effort. You will work at both tactical and strategic levels: diving deep into experiments, ranking metrics, revenue per impression, and conversion funnels while also steering steering-committee roadmaps and quarterly commitments. Key responsibilities include: - Owning the product roadmap for the Recommendations portfolio across all four surfaces, creating one coherent strategy where surfaces today compete for the same models, data, and engineers. - Translating commercial targets into ML product work: defining opportunity, sizing it, framing hypotheses, and prioritizing against competing initiatives. - Driving the experimentation cadence end-to-end—hypothesis design, A/B test design, guardrail metrics, readout, and ship/kill decisions—while maintaining high standards for what constitutes a win. - Partnering daily with engineering, data science, and analytics in Stockholm, and with commercial, sales, and growth stakeholders across Stockholm and Bangalore. - Owning revenue and engagement KPIs per surface, forecasting roadmap impact, and reporting progress to senior leadership monthly and quarterly. - Acting as the product voice in architecture and platform decisions, advocating for reusable, config-driven ML systems over one-off solutions. Required qualifications: - 5+ years of product management experience, with several years owning ML-driven or data-intensive products in production (recommendations, ads, ranking, personalization, or similar). - Fluency in experimentation: designing A/B tests, understanding statistical power and guardrails, reading dashboards independently. - Technical comfort: you don't build models, but can discuss retrieval vs. ranking, exploration vs. exploitation, and online vs. offline metrics. - Track record managing wide portfolios: multiple stakeholder groups, competing priorities, and the judgment to say no with reasoning. - Strong written and verbal communication for leadership-level documents and defense. - Experience working with distributed teams across time zones. Nice-to-have: - Ad tech, martech, or consumer monetization experience (auctions, attribution, pricing, advertiser-facing products). - Hands-on SQL and data exploration skills. - Experience taking over established product areas and earning trust with senior engineering teams.
