Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations Cloud, a platform enabling organizations dependent on physical operations to harness IoT data for actionable insights. The company serves agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing—industries representing over 40% of global GDP. As Senior Product Manager for Fuel & Energy, you will own a product area end-to-end, from customer problem identification to deployment at scale. Fuel and energy represent the largest controllable cost line for most fleets globally, yet spending decisions remain largely manual and spreadsheet-driven. Samsara's platform captures granular operational data—every mile, gallon, and idle minute—creating the foundation for a new class of products with billions in potential customer savings and meaningful emissions reductions. Your scope spans fuel cards and payments, driver and vehicle efficiency, the EV transition, and operational cost intelligence. You'll go deep on one area while understanding the broader ecosystem. Much of this space lacks established playbooks, particularly where AI can now detect waste that spreadsheets never could. You'll work differently: prototyping with AI, testing ideas in days rather than quarters. Key responsibilities include running deep discovery with fleet owners, fuel managers, operations leaders, and finance teams; owning product vision, strategy, and roadmap including business cases; prototyping and designing MVPs (clickable flows, demos, rough cuts, often AI-assisted) to pressure-test ideas before engineering commitment; shipping customer-facing experiences end-to-end with design, engineering, and data science; and defining success metrics and driving continuous experimentation cycles grounded in data and customer feedback. You'll spend significant time with customers and equally with go-to-market teams on pricing, packaging, and value communication—selling the value is as much a product decision as building it. Samsara seeks product generalists, not domain experts; the ability to find real customer problems, build conviction, and ship measurable outcomes matters more than fuel or fleet experience. Minimum 5+ years of product management experience required, with a track record of customer discovery, prioritization, and driving cross-functional teams to outcomes. You form independent points of view grounded in customer evidence, communicate clearly and concisely, and thrive with real ownership and candid feedback in an experimental, learning-oriented culture.
