OpenLoop is a telehealth platform that powers virtual care delivery across all 50 states. As Senior Product Manager for Insurance Eligibility, you will own the end-to-end insurance eligibility and benefits product—from payer connections and data normalization through client-facing APIs and patient-facing coverage information.
This is a strategic individual contributor role with significant influence across the organization. You'll partner with internal teams (Product, Engineering, Design, Services) and external clients to understand needs, shape solutions, and drive successful delivery. The eligibility function is critical: it's the first step in every virtual visit and the cheapest place in the revenue cycle to fix problems, but also the most expensive to miss.
Key responsibilities include:
- Define product strategy for real-time and batch eligibility verification, benefits detail, and coverage discovery, aligned with business and clinical goals
- Drive accuracy, speed, and completeness of eligibility responses; normalize inconsistent payer data into trustworthy benefit information
- Design how clients consume eligibility through APIs, configuration, and reporting to scale without custom builds
- Communicate roadmap priorities, tradeoffs, and timelines to stakeholders and partners
- Act as trusted advisor to senior leaders across functions
- Write actionable requirements and define success metrics (eligibility accuracy, denial rates, manual verification touches, payer uptime)
Required qualifications: 5+ years product management with direct customer/client experience; 3+ years in healthcare revenue cycle, payer operations, or health insurance technology; hands-on knowledge of eligibility and benefits workflows (270/271 exchanges, payer data normalization); working fluency across the wider revenue cycle (capture, claims, denials, patient billing); demonstrated roadmap building and communication; strong technical acumen working with engineers on APIs and data models; data-driven approach with comfort in transactional data and hypothesis validation; strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred: virtual care or care delivery platform experience; direct experience with clearinghouses or EDI transaction sets (270/271, 276/277, 837, 835); familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial billing differences; experience with Healthie or comparable EMRs; AI/automation applied to verification workflows; B2B2C or white-label environment experience; SQL proficiency.
OpenLoop operates with a flat structure, emphasizing autonomy, competence, and belonging.
