Okta is hiring a Senior Product Designer to lead the design of Okta for AI Agents, a strategic initiative focused on identity management, access control, and governance for AI agents and non-human identities. You'll work with IT and security admins, AI developers, and system architects to design experiences that enable safe deployment and governance of AI agents interacting with corporate data, tools, and production environments. In this role, you will own key workflows end-to-end, from early-stage concepting of novel interaction models (agentic permissioning patterns don't yet exist) through hardening and scaling flows as the product matures. You'll partner closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, and content designers, working alongside Principal and Staff designers to translate complex technical problems—delegation, policy, audit, trust boundaries between humans and agents—into simple, safe user experiences. Key responsibilities include: - Own workflows across the full design lifecycle, from conception through production hardening at scale - Apply systems thinking to connect user insights with business goals, ensuring customer and AI agent safety - Design for multiple personas: Security Admins, AI Engineers, Enterprise End-users, and IT Admins - Tackle complex scenarios including AI agent lifecycle management, permission scoping, human-in-the-loop authorization, and policy enforcement - Develop scalable, usable design patterns for non-human identity and agent management that maintain quality and consistency - Present work and concepts to cross-functional partners and senior leadership - Actively experiment with AI in your design process—brainstorming, rapid prototyping, edge-case exploration—while developing judgment on where AI genuinely accelerates work You'll thrive in ambiguous environments, define patterns and user flows where none exist, and balance user goals with business objectives and engineering constraints. You see design as a strategic partner with PM and Engineering in shaping product and UX outcomes. REQUIREMENTS: - Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience as a Product Designer or UX Designer - 5+ years of experience as a Product Designer - Proficiency in Figma or similar design tools - At least basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript - Digital portfolio demonstrating depth across multiple projects, including shipped work used in real products (portfolio link required) - Experience working with design systems (both adhering to and contributing to evolving systems) - Ability to move between big-picture thinking and detail orientation - Experience incorporating AI into your design process, including creating shared skills/workflows and documenting sophisticated prompts - Ability to evaluate AI-generated outputs for technical accuracy, design system adherence, and usability - Strong storytelling skills to communicate design ideas to diverse stakeholders - Portfolio showing work on complex technical subjects with ability to translate complexity into user-understandable concepts - Passion for upholding UX design principles and alignment with company values
