Salary: USD 180,000 - 256,000 / annual

Lila Sciences is building Scientific Superintelligence to solve major challenges through AI-driven autonomous science. As a Senior Product Designer II / Staff Product Designer on the Software Product team, you will shape core Lila App experiences that help scientists, ResOps, and LAS users plan, execute, and learn from scientific workflows. You will translate complex scientific workflows and AI-native product capabilities into intuitive, trustworthy, and scalable software experiences. Working closely with product, engineering, scientists, and operations teams, you will design workflows that support product externalization and high-quality user experiences across the Lila App. Your work will directly influence how users interact with Lila's scientific superintelligence platform and autonomous lab systems. Key responsibilities include: - Design end-to-end Lila App workflows for scientists, ResOps, and LAS users - Translate scientific and operational complexity into clear, intuitive product experiences - Partner with product, engineering, science, and operations to define user problems and tradeoffs - Prototype AI-native interactions that help users understand and act on system recommendations - Conduct lightweight research, workflow mapping, and usability testing with internal users - Contribute scalable design patterns that improve consistency across the Lila App - Use AI-enabled design tools to accelerate exploration, iteration, and communication Requirements: - 5+ years of product design, UX design, or interaction design experience - Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design and shipped product impact - Experience designing complex, data-rich, technical, or operational software products - Ability to simplify ambiguous technical workflows into clear product experiences - Strong interaction design, information architecture, and systems thinking skills - Experience partnering with product managers, engineers, and domain experts - Comfort using modern AI tools for design exploration, prototyping, and synthesis Bonus qualifications: - Experience designing for scientists, lab operations, biotech, or AI-enabled technical users - Experience designing AI-native workflows, trust calibration, explainability, or review flows - Familiarity with data visualization, workflow orchestration, LIMS, or scientific data management - Experience contributing to or scaling a design system - Comfort working in ambiguous, early-stage product areas
